Currently Not Accepting New Clients

People are resilient; we all have trials and feel down from time to time, and that's okay. What's important is that we don't stay down for long. It takes strength to ask for help and honesty and self-awareness to realize that we need it.

I am an LPC-Intern who has worked with children, adults, families, and groups. I have a BS in Human Development from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the CACREP accredited program at the University of Houston-Victoria.

I use Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Person Centered, and Play Therapies to treat clients ages 4 and older. Age, issue, and mental disorder determine which of the above therapies will be used. I have experience working with children and adolescents and the developmental issues that occur during these transitional years as well as those who have experienced trauma (e.g. victims of violent crimes), loss, and those who have chronic illnesses and/or disabilities. Although an effective counselor does not need to have experienced what their client is going through, I believe that my own experience as an amputee and someone with a chronic illness gives me extra insight into the lives of those with disabilities and the people who love and care for them. Although my faith has played a major role in overcoming obstacles, I will not impose my beliefs or values on to my clients. I work with clients from all backgrounds to find what best works for them.
