Lethean Manuel

LPC-Associate

Life is comprised of seasons. Seasons are the results of changes that may be welcomed, unexpected, exciting and/or life altering. How we walk through the seasons of life is key. It is comforting to know that we have someone walking with us through the seasons. As I walk with individuals in their seasons, my focus is to counsel, affirm, pray, and support. The goal is that my clients reach their personal level of wholeness. I am enthusiastic about connecting with my clients and allowing them to express their feelings, fears, hopes and dreams in an environment free from judgement and filled with compassion. I approach therapy from a collaborative perspective; this approach has proven effective in yielding the best results.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas under the supervision of C. Huston McComb, Jr. My counseling approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I am a firm believer that thoughts drive our actions. If we effectively manage our thoughts, our desired outcome will manifest in our actions.

Education and Background

I have over 25 years of experience in the criminal justice field where I utilize motivational interviewing and cognitive/behavioral interventions. I received my Master of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University.

I enjoy counseling from a biblically based perspective; however, I understand and respect the religious perspectives of my clients.

My knowledge, skills and experience afford me an opportunity to serve individuals and couples. I am enthusiastic about serving couples who find themselves in a season unfamiliarity.

I am happily married and have 3 adult children. My husband and I are actively involved in ministry at our place of worship. My hobbies include volunteering with my sorority, sharing time and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
