Experience & Specializations

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with individuals across a wide range of clinical and behavioral health settings, including community mental health, substance use treatment, juvenile justice, education, crisis response, and critical incident services. These experiences have allowed me to work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioral challenges, substance use, life transitions, and the effects of difficult or overwhelming experiences.
Across these settings, I have developed a deep appreciation for how our experiences can influence the way we understand ourselves, regulate emotions, develop relationships, make decisions, and respond to the world around us. My work has reinforced my belief that meaningful healing requires looking beyond symptoms and considering the whole person—including their emotional, mental, behavioral, relational, environmental, and overall well-being.
My clinical approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and holistic. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT-informed strategies, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused interventions to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and practical skills for navigating life's challenges. Whether working through past experiences, current stressors, behavioral patterns, or major life transitions, my goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to create meaningful change.

Professional Philosophy

I believe meaningful therapy begins with seeing the whole person—not simply a diagnosis, symptom, or presenting concern. A holistic approach recognizes that our emotional and mental well-being is influenced by our relationships, experiences, behaviors, environment, physical well-being, values, and sense of purpose. Understanding these connections can create opportunities for lasting growth and meaningful change.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I believe clients are the experts on their own experiences, and my role is to provide a safe, supportive space to explore challenges, identify strengths, develop greater self-awareness, and build practical skills for moving forward. Together, we work to understand patterns that may be contributing to distress while identifying healthier and more effective ways to respond.
I do not believe therapy should be a one-size-fits-all process. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT-informed strategies, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, tailoring treatment to each individual's needs, goals, and readiness for change.
Ultimately, my goal is to help clients move beyond simply managing symptoms toward developing greater balance, resilience, self-understanding, and fulfillment. I believe therapy can be a place where people reconnect with their strengths, gain perspective, and discover that meaningful change is possible.

Education & Licensure

I received my undergraduate degree from Wiley College, my Masters’ of Education in Counseling Education & Guidance from Texas Southern University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas. Additionally, I am a (LCDC) Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.

Personal Background

As a Houston-area professional and military veteran, I have spent much of my life serving others and developing a deep appreciation for the strength and resilience people demonstrate while navigating life's challenges. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my belief that every person has a story worth understanding and that people deserve to feel seen, heard, respected, and valued.
My journey in behavioral health has allowed me to serve individuals and families across a variety of settings, from community mental health and education to substance use treatment, juvenile services, crisis response, and critical incident support. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping others recognize their strengths, navigate difficult seasons, and create meaningful change.
Outside of my professional life, I value time with family, personal growth, faith, service, and maintaining a balanced and grounded life. I believe these same principles are important in therapy. Ultimately, I see counseling as more than addressing problems or symptoms—it is an opportunity to understand the whole person, build on existing strengths, and support each individual in becoming the healthiest and most authentic version of themselves.
