Kimberly Daigle
LPC-Associate
Life can be unpredictable and full of stress which may result in anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, or relational struggles. The process of counseling can help anyone with the desire to improve their life by providing the capability to make change in their outlook which can affect their circumstances. Counseling is meeting the person where they are and working in collaboration to create positive change for their present and future. It may seem overwhelming, but with the proper support and resources, counseling can help you define the problem, develop your goals, and create a plan to reach those goals.
I work with adolescents and adults use a Person-Centered perspective with techniques from a variety of theories, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
For those who wish to discuss or use a Christian frame of reference, I can offer counseling from a biblically-informed perspective. However, all religions and beliefs are valued and respected. My goal is to provide a space of nonjudgment for you to be able to work on your goals in order to create the changes in your life you desire.
Education and Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in the state of Texas under the supervision of C. Huston McComb, Jr., LPC-S. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and BA in Psychology from Houston Baptist University.
My practicum experience consisted of several different sites from a holistic reproductive care center to a residential treatment center for adolescents to a psychiatric hospital. Through groups and individual sessions, I have had the opportunity to work with depression, anxiety, conduct disorder, and women issues in regards to pregnancy, parenting, and relationships.
I found the most joy working specifically with women issues and with adolescents in the areas of self-esteem, anxiety, and emotional regulation. I also have received Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and gained knowledge of substance abuse, trauma, crisis, career development, and relationship concerns through classes offered at Houston Baptist University.
When I am not counseling or doing research about counseling, I am an active runner, yogi, and avid book reader.
